2025 Rally Italia Sardegna in Olbia
The Rally in Sardinia has a long history and continues to take place every year.
The 22nd edition of the rally, scheduled for 5–8 June, will feature a total of 16 special stages and 324 km of timed sections, marking a return to the classic three-day format. The venue for the event, organised by the Automobile Club d’Italia in partnership with the Region of Sardinia, returns to Olbia this year.
Olbia, Wednesday 5 February 2025 – The 22nd edition of the Rally Italia Sardegna will be packed with brand-new features, including the welcome return of some special stages from the past, and, first and foremost, a return to the classic format, with the rally divided into three stages. The rally will feature a total of 16 special stages and 324 km of timed sections, with the event – organised by the Automobile Club d’Italia in partnership with the Region of Sardinia – returning to Olbia this year. The Rally Italia Sardegna adventure will continue this time with a compact route, concentrated almost entirely in Gallura and Monte Acuto.
The Olbia Rally Route
The 22nd Rally Italia Sardegna features a compact route, kicking off on Thursday 5 June with the new shakedown held in the town of Olbia at Cabu Abbas (2.19 km). On Friday 6 June at 8.15 am, the first leg gets underway in Gallura and Monte Acuto, comprising 122.66 km of timed sections and six special stages: the 14.90 km Arzachena stage (essentially La Prugnola), which is run twice, the brand-new Calangianus-Berchidda stage (18.60 km), and Sa Conchedda (27.83 km), which partly follows the route of the Monti di Alà special stage. Halfway through the day, there will be a service park in Olbia. Then, on Saturday 7 June, the second stage, covering 122.80 km of timed sections, all set in Monte Acuto, divided into a further six special stages. These will be the stages run twice: Coiluna–Loelle (21.19 km), Lerno–Su Filigosu (24.32 km) and Tula–Erula (15.89 km). All are classic stages from the Rally Italia Sardegna, which will feature some sections that differ from previous years. Finally, on Sunday 8 June, the final stage of 79.18 km of timed sections will take place; this is a completely new stage as it features two largely new special stages to be run twice. The first, San Giacomo–Plebi (25.74 km), returns after more than ten years, but only partly follows the route used in the past, whilst the second, Porto San Paolo (13.85 km), which will host the final power stage, is completely new and offers sweeping views of the sea, with the enchanting silhouette of the island of Tavolara in the background. The final podium ceremony is scheduled to take place in Olbia at 4.00 pm.
